Urim and Thummim in Hebrew means “Lights
and Perfections.”
Prophets in ancient times
used these ‘seer
stones’ so they could translate
unknown
languages if God so willed it.
Ur or ‘Light’ of the Chaldees, a former seaport is
now called
Mughur, is now located 150 miles from the
Persian
Gulf.
Ultimately light helps us to see. Our eyes require
light to
perceive color and the beautiful world that
God created 'in the beginning.'
Using the ‘seer stones’ described as two clear
stones set
in silver bows, attached to a breastplate,
Joseph Smith
said. I picture eyeglasses with
crystals that
allow Light to pour in.
Useful as this might be, it really trains the prophet user
to understand
the revelatory process, bringing
forth from
shadow a glorious vision of the future.
That's why we call them prophets, seers, and revelators.
Uplifting us with an unprecedented view even around corners,
we can now claim insights never before considered
by the world at large, as even
remotely possible.
United with God’s vision, His all-seeing eye,
where everything
is present to Him,
light
bursts into our soul. That light is
Jesus
Christ, the Light of the World.
Unique is our understanding of what unity
means.
United or sealed together at altars
in temple celestial
rooms around the world,
families are
indeed forever! Malachi’s statement
of utterly
wasted is undone!
